Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Monday mocked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s China visit, claiming that the slogan “Vote chor, gaddi chhodd”—popularised in Bihar—has now echoed as far as Beijing and the United States.

Speaking to ANI, Gandhi said, “Vote Chor Gaddi Chhod, Bihar mein naya naara chala hai… Even in China and the US, people are saying ‘Vote chor, gaddi chhodd’.”

The remark came at the conclusion of his 16-day Voter Adhikar Yatra, which ended in Patna. The yatra was aimed at protesting the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Bihar and amplifying Gandhi’s allegations of “vote theft” against the BJP.

During his address, Gandhi warned of bigger revelations ahead, saying, “You have seen the atom bomb on vote theft, now you will see the hydrogen bomb.” He accused the BJP of undermining democracy, stating, “The same forces that assassinated Mahatma Gandhi are now trying to assassinate the Constitution. We will not let that happen.”

The Voter Adhikar Yatra, launched on August 18 from Sasaram alongside RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, covered 25 districts including Aurangabad, Gaya, and Siwan. The campaign drew wide participation from INDIA bloc leaders such as Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, CPI(ML) general secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, and Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin.

Concluding the rally, Gandhi hailed Bihar as a “revolutionary state” that has sent a strong message against electoral malpractice and pledged continued resistance to what he called “vote chori”.
